Lane's Project 2004

On September 11, 2001 all of our lives changed.  My son came to me to ask if I could knit him a flag. This was before the patterns were everywhere.  So I set down and drafted a design.  I also found a cross stitch pattern for a star so I began to put it all together and the following is what I came up with.  I did start this project in 2001, but was not aware of the time to complete this so like a lot of us I got discouraged.  Christmas of 2003 my son reminded me of the flag so I got it out of my closet and was determined to finish it in 2004.  See picture below.
